The Gaunless Gateway Partnership notice
For the last 8 years, the Gaunless Gateway Big Local Partnership has partnered with several local community organisations to help them deliver and run their project. This has included working with South Durham Enterprise Agency (SDEA) as their Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO). As the project moves into the next phase, the Partnership is seeking a new organisation to take on this role, with support and best wishes from SDEA. It is therefore seeking interested parties to contact the partnership and express their interest. |
Being an LTO plays a hugely important role in the project, and the Partnership has created a detailed list of the kind of organisation they want to take them forward for the next three years. They want to maintain the day-to-day, stable, transparent and responsible project and financial management that has allowed them to develop and deliver three Big Local Plans, but also an organisation that can help them tackle strategic questions of structure, direction and longer-term planning. The Partnership wants to work with a small, local organisation as their LTO and wants the organisation to be connected to the community they serve.
Being an LTO is a responsible position within the Big Local project, and LTOs have all sorts of shapes and sizes. Interested organisations should read up on the guidance on LTO published by Local Trust. and be fully aware of their responsibilities. Organisations must pass a due diligence test with Local Trust and be appointed in the public domain fairly and transparently. (The link below will open in a new window)

The Partnership has met and agreed on the process involved and identified the following as being required to fulfil the role. Organisations will be considered based on their ability to provide the following services to the Partnership as part of their funding agreement with Local Trust.
The selected organisation will be asked to enter into a funding agreement with Local Trust on behalf of the Partnership. That funding agreement will contain specific conditions which may require activity over and above those listed here, which will also be required. As mentioned above the organisation must pass the Local Trust due diligence test. Please allow up to 12 weeks to complete this process.
